      THE BANK (Essanay), Aug. 16. – The latest two-reel

Chaplin, which was a week late in arriving, is worth

waiting for. It is a distinct advance in the grade of its fun,

the comedian‘s methods being as deft as ever, but

many of the familiar tricks have been dispensed with. The plot

is a real one, numerous bits of new business

and a neatly turned surprise finish counting largely for

the picture‘s success.
