& Garrick.

If you believe that „it is better to go into the house

of mourning than into the house of mirth,“ don‘t

go to the Garrick this week. However, if you do think that

way, you‘ll probably change your philosophy

if you accidentally drop into the Garrick for there you will

encounter Charlie Chaplin, the philosopher of fun.

This week he will be seen in „The Immigrant“ and his adventures

start from the time he ships for America in the steerage

of a big boat. It is said that „he makes merry in the steerage.“

Imagine the rest.

      There‘s a romance in it, too, a gentle, honey-sweet

romance in which Edna Purviance is the heroine.
