Charlie Chaplin, Comedy Wonder,
At Two Tacoma Theatres Today
Charlie Chaplin, peer among the moving picture comedians,
is appearing at two theatres in Tacoma today. He came
yesterday to both houses, and his popularity was so great that
it was necessary to put „Standing Room Only“ cards.
At the Shell theater Chaplin is appearing in his latest
Essanay feature, The Champion. At the Melbourne
he is convulsing his audience with The Face on the Barroom
Floor. Both comedies are well worth seeing. Anyone
witnessing either of the films can easily realize how the
Essanay company can afford to pay Chaplin
a salary of $100,000 a year. Today it is his last appearance
at both theatres.
Two photos. Charlie Chaplin, as he is in real life,
and as he appears in The Champion, at the Shell today.
