& CHAPLIN‘S FIREMAN.

The latest Mutual Chaplin comedy in two reels. The picture

relies upon a burlesque fire company for its comedy,

Chaplin playing the role of engine driver with the other members

of the company, especially the captain, acting as his foils.

There is an abundance of the rough comedy which secures laughs.

The best laughs are when the prop engine falls apart.

The rescue of the girl from the top story is a good hit, also the

general business around the fire house.

& Wigwam – Charlie Chaplin.

Charlie Chaplin, the world‘s greatest screen comedian,

will be seen at the Wigwam today in „The Fireman,“

the second of his pictures under his $670,000 a year contract

with the Mutual Film corporation. This picture will

be released at the Wigwam today for its showing in Texas

and El Paso will see it as soon as New York and

the other big towns. „The Fireman“ is more elaborate in its

production than the pictures in which Chaplin

appeared under other managements. The Mutual corporation

is not cutting down on its productions as the other

did because of Chaplin‘s tremendous salary, but instead,

is making them bigger. There are a number of big

scenes, including the actual burning of two real houses.

Patrons are urged to come to the matinees

today and tomorrow if they can, as the Wigwam was unable

to accommodate all who wished to see Chaplin

last time. – Advertisement.

der Welt grösster Leinwandkomiker, ist im Wigwam

heute in The Fireman zu sehen, dem zweiten seiner Filme

unter seinem 670 000 $ Jahresvertrag mit der Mutual

Film Corporation.

The Fireman ist ausgearbeiteter in seiner

– Werbung.“
