partnership in a special photoplay combination
with William Fox, Chaplin‘s guaranteed annual profits to be $500,000.

Charles Chaplin will decide his fate some day this week.
At present Universal has the lead in the bidding
for his services. A little bird whispers that Universal is prepared
to go one better than anybody else in the bidding.
The last bid recorded is said to have been $300,000 a year.“
