Chaplin Ties Up
„Life“ Distribution
NEW YOK (UP) – Film Comedian Charles Chaplin
today won a federal court injunction restraining Life Magazine
from distributing its next issue.
The injunction was issued shortly after Chaplin filed
a million dollar damage suit against the magazine
for printing a picture of Chaplin in his forthcoming film,
„The Dictator.“
Judge Knox held that the magazine publishers
cannot release an additional 1,700,000 copies now in their
possession.
The picture that Life published shows Chaplin wearing
a military cap with a double „X“ insignia – „The Dictator of the
Double-Cross.“

& Charlie Chaplin‘s no fool. Instead of pressing his suit for
a $1,000,000 against Life magazine, he‘s given them
a four-page layout of „The Dictator“ which you‘ll see around
