LIMA (Peru) Oct. 13. (U.P.) – Minister of Justice Lino
Cornejo and Senator Manchego Munoz still differed
today over the merits of Charlie Chaplin‘s film „The Great
Dictator“ despite a pistol duel.
Cornejo and Munoz dueled over Munoz‘s remarks
in a Senate debate on the banning of the film here.
Two shots were exchanged but neither duelist was wounded.
There was no reconciliation.
Cornejo had offered his resignation before the duel
but it was not accepted.

release, has finally been approved by the Brazilian
Government, U. A. announced. The film will open in Rio
de Janeiro and Sao Paulo May 15.

Reports reaching here from Rio de Janeiro indicate
that Brazilian authorities, who had previously banned
exhibition of The Great Dictator and Confessions of a Nazi Spy,
have lifted the censorship and the pictures may now
be shown.“
