& Reginald Gardiner is much too charming to play
a disagreeable storm trooper – but when I tell
you he‘s been signed to play a sympathetic captain of the
goose-steppers in „The Dictators,“ Charlie Chaplin‘s
picture, you‘ll realize there‘s plenty of opportunity for his comedy.
Personally, I hope that this is the turn toward bigger
and better things for Reggie – for he hasn‘t been getting
the breaks he deserves. Speaking of „The Dictators,“

yacht to brush up on their lines. Paulette already
knows her dialogue – and Charlie‘s going into retirement
to master his before facing the camera Tuesday.

& Charles Chaplin was reported continuing production plans
for his $1,500,000 picture, „The Dictator,“ in spite
of Europe‘s growing war conflagration. It was pointed out
that the picture faced probable bans in Germany and
other dictator-governed nations from the start. The picture
is scheduled to start the latter part of this week.
