Charlie Chaplin can have more fun alone than if surrounded

Charlie Chaplin is getting the usual percentage of laughs

at the Garrick this week in „Behind the Screen,“

a travesty on motion-picture making. The plot of the comedy

affords Chaplin countless opportunities to make his

audiences laugh, and, of course, he takes advantage of every

one. Zoe Ray, the clever child actress, in „Gloriania,“

is the added attraction.

Next week‘s running mate to Charlie Chaplin

in „Behind the Screen“ will be „Love Never

Dies,“ starring the clever actress, Ruth Stonehouse.

Film fans will have only one more week to see Charlie

Chaplin in „Behind the Screen.“ The public has before

been given a peep behind the scenes and shown how certain

types of production are staged by motion-picture

directors. But never before has anybody ever played horse

with the serious business of film making in the fashion

that Charlie Chaplin does. The mere thought of Charlie turned

loose in a big motion-picture plant to do as he wills

bring smiles to the lips.

& Garrick.

Charlie Chaplin began his second week of „Behind the

Screen,“ at the Garrick yesterday. Funnier than ever

is Charlie in this travesty revealment of the inner workings

of a motion-picture studio, with such touches

of realism as to make the whole almost convincing.
