& Charlie Chaplin In Wreck
Comedian of Comedians Narrowly Escapes Fatal Injuries
in Awful Smash-up – Haled in Court
Charlie Chaplin, the world-famous comedian, would have
been lying at death‘s door today as the result of a terrific
smash-up, if the pies with which Chaplin collided had been made
of wood or steel instead of dough and custard. All the
harrowing details of his melee with the pastry has been clearly
pictured at the Garrick this week in „Behind the Screen,“
the latest comedy to be made under the $670,000 Mutual-Chaplin
contract. in which he burlesques life around the studios.
