Behind the Screen Clippings 3/93

MUTUAL NEWS, Motion Picture News, New York, October 28 1916.

Behind the Screen Scenes

& Charles Chaplin

in this picture looks as if he had just been rehearsing the rôle

of Hamlet. It is hard to associate „Charlie,“ the comedian,

with this likeness of him. Although so well known as a laugh

producer, the public knows little about his life behind

the screen. He was born in a suburb of London of a theatrical

family, twenty-six years ago, and began his stage

career at seven as a clog dancer. Before he attained fame

as a picture actor he was popular as The Funny Drunk

in „A Night in an English Music Hall.“

Anzeige. Der Titel: „Nächster Chaplin am 13. November.“

Mutual Chaplin Spezial Spielfilms. Das Datum des Filmstarts ist 13.

November.
