THE Portola theatre, 779 Market street,
San Francisco, Cal., enjoys the distinction of being one
of the largest houses in that city devoted exclusively
to motion pictures, and has the added distinction of being located
in the very heart of the downtown section, near Fourth
street, the theater proper is on Stevenson street and is reached
through an unusually long tiled lobby. This arrangement
is most advantageous as the noises of Market street are entirely
eliminated. The theatre has a seating capacity of 1,100.
