„Practically intact for the past two or three years“

Editorial content. „AT THE EMPRESS

      Although the Karno comedians who are playing at the

Empress theatre this week have, outside of a few

additions, remained practically intact for the past two or three

years, considerable changes took place in the earlier

days and only three members of the company that came here

first in 1905 remain. Two of these were absent for

some time, but have returned to the fold. These two are

Charles Cardon and Charles Griffiths. The third,

who has stayed with the company all these years without

a break, is Manager Alf. Reeves. „I wouldn‘t quit

even if they fired me,“ he jocularly remarked yesterday.

      „We have had some peculiar experiences,“

said Charles Cardon, „but one of the most unusual, despite

its triviality, occurred in a Pennsylvanian town:“ (...)
