Editorial content. „There is much novelty on the bill

which goes to make up the programme offered at the Empress

this week. First of all comes Karno‘s comedians, in a

side-splitting affair called The Wow Wows, which affords the

leading comedian, Charles Chaplan, every opportunity

to display his versatility as an inebriate. Many of the implements

used many years ago in initiations are brought forcefully

into play, much to the fright of the applicant, but to the merriment

of the audience.“
