& Private Showing Soon
The daily crop of rumors concerning film activities
brought forth yesterday report the report that
there will be a private showing of Charlie Chaplin‘s second
First National picture, „Shoulder Arms,“ in about
two weeks to which a number of notable personages will
be invited.
The rumor had it that the officers of Camp Mills,
Camp Upton, the Mincola Aviation field, the
Army and Navy Departments, the Governor, the Mayor
and city commissioners will all be invited
to attend the pre-release exhibition of the three-reel comedy.
The print of the picture is understood

„Novel thrills and patriotic pep“
Editorial content. „Charlie Chaplin‘s second million-dollar
comedy, Shoulder Arms, is now being cut and
assembled under the personal supervision of the comedian
himself, and will undoubtedly be released on or
before October 1. It has not been definitely decided the
exact length in which the production will be
distributed, but in any event exhibitors can look for the most
telling work of Chaplin‘s entire career set off against
a war-time back ground that simply abounds in novel thrills
and patriotic pep.“
