& S. L. R. Keeps Talking About Charlie Chaplin (...)

„Are you going to have your own film company and let us realize

the dream of our movie existence and write titles?“

„Perhaps. Though I am not so anxious to produce

as I am to to direct. Ah! That is what I

should like – to make a picture of my own!“

„Are you going in business with

Samuel Goldfish – Goldwyn – and direct his pictures?“

      „Perhaps. I haven‘t quite decided yet. Now,

don‘t you want to hear about Charlie Chaplin? Do you know him?“

„Yes,“ we answered, „but we refuse to talk about him.

We insist on talking of your new plans. What are you going to do?“

„Charlie Chaplin is the most versatile person I ever met.“

„We are going unless you speak.“

      „He plays the ‘cello“ –

      We arose.

      „And the piano“ –

      We reached the door.

      „And he dances“ –

      We were in the hall.

      „And he imitates“ –

And as the door swung behind us we heard something

about „6 o‘clock in the morning,“ „talking all night,“

„bully good fellow“ and „best actor in the world.“      H. U.

& S. L. Rothapfel has prepared for the wintry blasts.

He appeared at the Rivoli yesterday in a new

limousine resplendent with a broad red stripe across the

sleek black body (the body of the car, that is).

to absorb the psychology of a picture drama as my present

patrons.“
