JACKE COOGAN – – –
An Institution
J. D. Williams of Associated First National Pictures thus
named this famous little star of the silver sheet –––
Ever since Mr. Charles Chaplin injected Jackie‘s natural
talents and beautiful personality in „The Kid“ the
fame of this wonder boy has increased at meteoric pace. (...)
Yes, J. D. Williams is right –
Jackie Coogan is an Institution.

„Well, J. D.?“
Editorial content. „When Film Comedian
Meets Executive
Those who imagine when a great screen artist and
a busy film executive go ,into session‘ that there
would slip over the transom only such expressions as
,$400,000 negative,‘ ,great continuity,‘ ,how much
in Seattle?‘, etc. would probably have had the surprise
of their lives if they had been present when J. D.
Williams, general manager of Associated First National
Pictures, Inc., paid a visit this week to the
Chaplin studio.
After a hearty greeting the artist looked at the film
executive and said: ,Well, J. D.?‘ And the head
of the largest chain of theaters in the world replied after
a moment, ,Wonderful, Charlie – simply wonderful.‘
That was all the allusion that was made to The Kid,
the picture which is smashing all box office records
throughout the country, and is simultaneously playing at
no less than 78 theaters in New York City alone.
Chaplin hied the First National chief away to the Pasadena
Golf links. Mr. and Mrs. Williams were the guests
of honor at a dinner given at the Chaplin studio last night.“
