Why the smile? Well, he´s going home.
You seldom see the world‘s greatest comedian as he really
looks. So this is perhaps the most interesting photograph
ever made of Charles Spencer Chaplin. He was in New York
a few days before sailing for Europe. While he is showing
streaks of grey in his hair it is not nearly as noticeable as it seems
in this picture. Over there Mr. Chaplin will write a series of
articles for PHOTOPLAY entitled „Charlie Abroad.“
