The Kid Clippings 230/268

Charles Chaplin, Cinéa, Paris, October 28, 1921

Why the smile? Well, he´s going home.

You seldom see the world‘s greatest comedian as he really

looks. So this is perhaps the most interesting photograph

ever made of Charles Spencer Chaplin. He was in New York

a few days before sailing for Europe. While he is showing

streaks of grey in his hair it is not nearly as noticeable as it seems

in this picture. Over there Mr. Chaplin will write a series of

articles for PHOTOPLAY entitled „Charlie Abroad.“

honoré et dont je vous promets d‘abuser dans l‘avenir. Car

je reviendrai, je reviendrai!“
