& Regarding Chaplin

In the official announcement of First National covering

its releases for next year, there is no mention of any releases

from Charlie Chaplin.

At First National, it was stated that Chaplin has four more

to deliver to the circuit and that no mention was made

of his pictures because „there was no way of telling when

they would come through.“

„Believe they will have a distinct surprise“

Editorial content. „Chaplin‘s Latest

      Named ,The Kid‘

First National franchise holders are eagerly awaiting

The Kid, Charlie Chaplin‘s multiple reel comedy,

which has been several months in the making at Chaplin‘s

Hollywood studios.

The Kid is said, according to those who have seen

it in rough continuity at the west coast studios,

to be a screen knockout, crammed with any number

of screaming situations and inimitable bits

of business that can only be registered by the famous

comedian.

No news is forthcoming at this time as to just when

franchise holders can expect to secure their prints

on this production, but the clamor for another Chaplin

picture is heard from all parts of the world and

indications are that it will be given a tremendous reception

as soon as the release date is announced.

The exact nature of the production is being kept

a secret by the Chaplin executives who

believe they will have a distinct surprise to spring

on the legions of theatre goers, who swear

by the diminutive fun maker with the baggy trousers,

oversize shoes and flexible walking stick.“
