      The third reel in the Chaplin marital scenario was run off

yesterday, with Mrs. Mildred Harris Chaplin once again occupying

the center of the screen.“ (...)

      „Mr. Chaplin refuses to be worried. Nathan Burkan, his

attorney, declared that his client ,wouldn‘t give her

50 per cent of anything.‘ Mr. Burkan ,pooh-poohed‘ Mrs.

Chaplin‘s fifty-fifty proposition generally, asserting

that the community laws of California, under which she makes

the claims, are not recognized in New York.“ (...)

time in straightened circumstances, pointing out

that during most of the time she complains of she was receiving
