& Charlie Chaplin Gets
Good Lesson From War
„Gas For The Foe.“
In „Easy Street“ Charles Spencer Chaplin‘s latest Mutual
comedy, the comedian has invented a brand new
piece of comedy business, to-wit: Gas treatment for heavy
villains. Eric Campbell, who weighs 321.5 pounds
-
f.o. b. Los Angeles, is the victim of this latest and cutest
Chaplin prank. Quite incidentally Eric Campbell
proves up as a strong man by bending lampposts like a small
boy shaking a peach sapling. „Easy Street,“ the
comedy which sent Chaplin to a hospital, contains more
„rough house“ per linear foot than any previous
Chaplin comedy. An unusual fact is the escape alive
of practically the whole cast.

known in London.
