Charlie Chaplin‘s newest picture, „Easy Street,“ is finished.
This was given a preview the other night. It reveals the
beloved comedian in an entirely new character, with the old
slap-stick stuff much modified, and showing Chaplin
to be a comdian and an all-round actor of the highest class.
„Easy Street“ promises to be a sensation.
Coals of Fire Note
Charlie Chaplin has a memory like a city directory.
Anna Chandler, who is pleasing the crowds
with her singing at the Orpheum this week, is an old friend
of Chaplin. They met the other day for the first time
in seven years. In the meantime Charlie has grown famous.
The two first met in London, when Miss Chandler
was singing in light opera and Chaplin was a member
of a minstrel company.
