& Charlie Chaplin, the Mutual comedian,
was all mussed up at his studio Friday this week.
He was rehearsing a scene in a new picture in which, as a
policeman, he was to break off a lamp post. Down
came the lamp post with Charlie underneath. At first it was
thought he was badly hurt and he was removed
at once to his apartments at the L. A. Athletic Club. He will not
be able to work for several days.

the price of gasoline has jumped to twenty cents.
A few thousand mean nothing to Charley when it comes
to having a good time.

Charlie Chaplin sent $500 to Philadelphia last week to help in
giving the poor children of that city a merry Christmas.

& Laura V. Austin of the Chaplin Company was injured
when a street car collided with the auto in which
she was riding one day last week. She is confined to her home
and will not be out for some time. She suffered
severe shock , a wrenched back, bruises and lacerations.
