„NOW, I‘ll tell you why I don‘t like moving Pictures,“ observed
the newspaper man truculently barring my path to THE
TRIBUNE cashier‘s window. „I went over to the Colonial to see
Chaplin and enjoyed the two reels of ,Work‘ immensely
and then there were six reels of wormwood that spoiled the
whole thing.“
In spite of a personal affection for pictures I agreed
with him. (...)
Chaplin in his paste and paper saga –
it certainly is mythical – is true to form in funniness and
he is much more seeable from the point of view
of respectability than of yore.
