& There is a rush for seats at the Empress this afternoon.

The bill is one of the best that has been

advertised in the Empress for a long time. Headed by Karno

and his company of clever comedians, there

is going to be something doing in the comedy line.

„Furnished by the antics pf the people in the boxes“

Editorial content. „THE Empress.

The ,standing room only‘ sign was out at the Empress

theatre last evening at a quarter to eight and a few

minutes later there was no room for another person. The

performance is one of the best which has been

presented at the theatre for some weeks and the people got

wise to what they might expect and flocked to the

house. The head liner of the programme is Fred Karno‘s

original English pantomime company in A Night

in an English Music Hall. There are half a dozen people

in the caste, including a dozen in the boxes on the

stage, for it is a stage on a stage. The chief amusement

is furnished by the antics pf the people in the

boxes.“ (...)

Redaktioneller Inhalt.

April 1911 A Night

in an English Music Hall.
