Charlie Chaplin‘s The Gold Rush has been booked
by Sid Grauman as his next big attraction at the
Egyptian. It will be the world premiere of the picture, comedy
drama, which was more than a year in the making.
The Iron Horse will close June 21. The house will be dark
for five days while finishing touches are being given
to a spectacular new prologue.
The contract terms will bring Chaplin the biggest returns,
it is said, ever specified by contract of the kind. (...)
