By Grace Kingsley (...)
Stella and I were at Sam Goldwyn‘s party, following the
opening of Charlie Chaplin‘s picture, „The Gold Rush.“
„I never,“ said Stella, „want to go to another big picture
opening or party again!“
„Why, Stella,“ I said, „aren‘t you having the time
of your life?“
„That‘s just it,“ she answered. „I never expect to see
another such opening.“

„The fore-court of the amusement palace“
Editorial content. „,Gold Rush‘ Still On
Charlie Chaplin‘s ten-part comedy-drama of the
humorous side of life in Alaska during the
gold-strike days, The Gold Rush, presaged by Sid
Grauman‘s elaborate prologue spectacle
of the land of the Midnight Sun, Charlie Chaplin‘s Dream,
is away on its fifth week in Grauman‘s Egyptian
Theater.
The fore-court of the amusement palace has been
transformed into an Alaskan wonderland by
Grauman, with quaint totem poles, a replica of the famed
Dawson City trading post, and animals native
to the snow country on exhibition.“
The Gold Rush opens June 26, 1925
at Grauman‘s Egyptian, 6712 Hollywood Bld., Los Angeles.
