in 1926, began marketing beauty products

under the name „Charles of the Ritz.“ Perfume was

& The length of the new Chaplin

comedy, „The God Rush,“ does not permit the usual

Jospeh Plunkett program of half a dozen or more

divertissements. Instead, „The God Rush“ has a special

prologue produced by Mr. Plunkett. The program

opens with a prelude by the orchestra. The second unit

is the topical review, and next is Mr. Plunkett‘s

prologue, a Klondike dance hall scene, around which much

of the photoplay action centres.

Remain in seclusion until Saturday night

Editorial content. „Charlie Chaplin Ill;

      Must Take Long Rest

Charlie Chaplin will take a long rest if the screen

comedian takes the advice of physicians

attending him at the Ritz. Chaplin was to have been

the guest at a luncheon party of newspaper

women yesterday, but was compelled to call off the

engagement.

As investigation as to the cause revealed Chaplin was

at the hotel under care of the house physician

and a specialist who had been called in. The comedian

was pronounced as suffering from a nervous

attack which presaged a complete nervous breakdown

unless he took a complete rest for at least

six months.

A member of the Chaplin staff stated yesterday that

the comedian would remain in seclusion until

Saturday night, when he would make an appearance

at the Strand for the initial showing in New York

of The Gold Rush, after which he would heed the doctors‘

advice and rest.“

The Gold Rush opens June 26, 1925

at Grauman‘s Egyptian, 6712 Hollywood Bld., Los Angeles.

The Gold Rush opens August 15, 1925

at Strand Theatre, B‘way at 47th St., New York.
