The First Radio Inauguration President Calvin Coolidge, taking
the oath of office from Chief Justice William Howard Taft,
of the United States Supreme Court. March 4, 1925, was the first
time in American history that an ex-president administered
the oath of office to an incoming president. The twenty-four stations which broadcast the ceremonies practically linked up the
entire nation.
