Angeles, Calif. – I found Mildred on one of the big stages

      „I didn‘t see him again for several weeks. I thought about

him, of course, but more as a regretful memory than

anything else. There was to be a grand fete on the Lasky lot

– a war benefit, I think. It was a brilliant affair.

We all had booths – Blanche Sweet and I had a flower

booth.

      The crowds were enormous. All the movie world was

there. I was selling some flowers, when I heard

somebody say, ,How much are the roses?‘ It was Charlie!
