everything that Chaplin has ever done. Manager Glim
announces that „Easy Street“ will have to be shown
another week in order to accommodate all the Garrick patrons.
In addition to „Easy Street“ next week‘s programme
will include Dorothy Phillips in „The Piper‘s Price.“

If you wish to see fine character-drawing, compelling
human drama, a story which holds you from beginning
to end, and all minus battlefields, shootings, rapes and other
„jazz“ of the films, a story which deals with life as it is,
and not sickeningly sugary concoctions bearing about as much
relation to life as your first primer stories, go to the Garrick
and view „The Piper‘s Price.“ This is a dramatization of Mrs.
Wilson Woodrow‘s story, and serves to supplement
Charlie Chaplin‘s latest and best picture, „Easy Street,“ which
itself by the way serves something of the purpose
of the old-time farce which preceded every serious piece
on the stage.
