      By a standing vote and a minute of silence, the meeting

adopted the following resolution:

      ,While many members of the Screen Writers‘ Guild

contributed to the war effort as civilians, in the Writers‘ Mobilization

and other necessary activities, at the same time 277

members of the SWG, representing more than a fourth of the membership, served directly as members of the Armed

Forces – a war record unexcelled by any group in the motion

picture industry.“ (...)

      „RESOLVED, That the President of the Guild,

in the name of the SWG, write a letter to the widow or next

to kin, of the three members of the Guild, ROBERT

MELTZER, PETER RUSOFF and DAVID SILVERSTEIN,
