Chaplin Defies Prophets With
New Silent Film
Charles Chaplin, kingpin of the comedians, is ready
to throw down the gauntlett to one of the country‘s largest industries
– the motion-picture business.
Yesterday he finished photographing the final fadeout of his
current production, the only picture made and to be
presented in silent form since the advent of the talkies. It is now
in the cutting rooms and will be ready for its premiere
showing some time next month.

the game into as complete a chaos as sound did. Strange
as it may seem, astute showmen all over the
country believe the seismic disturbance will presage
