For ,City Lights‘
SEATS for the world premiere of Charlie Chaplin
in City Lights at the Los Angeles Theater Friday night, January
30, will be placed on sale at the box office of the new
playhouse commencing Friday morning, if present plans carry.
Work is being rushed on the lobby of the theater located
on Broadway, between Sixth and Seventh, and it is anticipated
that the box office will be finished in time to permit of the
public sale at the time mentioned.
In the meantime applications for the coveted tickets with
checks accompanying them are being received at the
Tower Theater, Broadway at Eighth, which is under the same
ownership as the Los Angeles. According to Robert
Gumbiner, manager of the new theater, advance ticket sales
presage a complete sell-out of the house long before
the evening of the premiere.“
The world premiere of City Lights takes place in Los Angeles
January 30, 1931 at the Los Angeles Theatre.
