      „An orchestra was playing when we entered and we

caught sight of Charlie Chaplin dancing with his new leading lady,

Virginia Cherrill, whom he had brought.“ (...) 

      „Joseph Schenck danced with Lily Damita; Harry D‘Arrast

with Betty Compson; Charlie Chaplin with Virginia

Cherrill; Jack Dempsey with bebe Daniels; Roland Drew with

Estelle Taylor; Carmelita Geraghty with Bernie Fineman,

and Anita Stewart with her fiance.

      Afterward all changed partners except Charlie and

Virginia, and the finally contending couples were

Joseph Schenck and Estelle Taylor, Roland Drew and Bebe

Daniels, and Charlie Chaplin and Virginia Cherrill.

Schenck and Estelle won.

      Then it was decided to have contests with the men

dancing together and the feminine guests dancing

together, which proved very amusing.

      Charlie Chaplin danced with Joseph Schenck.“ (...)

while Billie Dove and Phyllis Haver won the girls‘ prize.“ (...)

      „Charlie Chaplin next did a skating dance for

us that was a riot, followed by a couple of impromptu

sketches, in which Roy Brooks, Lila Lee, Phyllis

Haver, Bebe, Dr. Martin and some of the others took part.“ (...)
