Los Angeles – Despite published report that the
proposed deal has been abandoned, Joseph M.
Schenck is proceeding with plans for formation of United
Artists Consolidated and affiliation with Warners,
regardless of Charles Chaplin‘s attitude. Chaplin, who had been
asked to guarantee delivery of three pictures in two years,
flatly refuses to be a party to the deal.
Schenck feels that Chaplin may yet change his mind toward
the deal, but with or without Chaplin, he does not intend
to abandon the project.“ (...)
