OPENING WITH TRIMMINGS
Movieland‘s starlets will have a premiere all their own
Saturday morning at the Chinese Theater. All the
features of a regular opening, including news reel cameras
and radio announcers, will be present. Jackie Coogan,
Philip de Lacey, Muriel McCormack, Jackie Condon and the
other youngsters will see „The Circus,“ with Charlie
Chaplin and Merna Kennedy, and Sid Grauman‘s prologue,
„Ballyhoo.“

Hon. James D. Davis, secretary of the
United States department of labor, supreme dictator of the
Order of Moose, has chosen Charlie Chaplin,
whose latest mirth classic, „The Circus,“ is drawing crowds
to Grauman‘s Chinese Theater, to act as master
of ceremonies at the jubilee and ball to be staged by the
Moose on April, at the Ambassador Auditorium.
Chaplin accepted the invitation. The ball is arranged
to bid von voyage to delegates seeking to bring
the 1929 international convention of the order to Los Angeles.
