& Charlie Chaplin was the musical enthusiast selected

for honoring by the directors of the Edison

Hour at W J Z last night. When we tuned in about 9:10

the wood-winds were crooning a dreamy melody.

The following number was a sort of symphonic plus jazz

arrangement of „I‘ll Never Ask for More,“ taken

apart and put together again by Frank Black. At 9:15 p.m.,

Eastern Standard time, the announcer, who sounded

like the affable Mr. Carlin, mentioned that this was the „entr-acte,“

and proceeded with some ballyhooing of the wares

marketed by the concern sponsoring the program.
