The circus dressing tent of Charles Chaplin caught fire
last week at the Chaplin Studios, on La Brea Avenue,
Hollywood, while the star was enacting a scene with Merna
Kennedy, his leading lady. Chaplin himself was the one
to first discover the fire, which is said to have started through
a short-circuit. The estimated damage is $25,000.“
The Circus will have its world premiere
at a gala midnight performance January 6, 1928 at the
Strand, 1579 B‘way (at 47th St.), New York.
