Editorial content. „Chaplin Heir

      Born in April?

      So Inside Reported in L.

      A. – Holding Back for Publicity

                                                           Los Angeles, June 14.

With everyone in Hollywood speculating as to when

the heir to the Charlie Chaplin fortune is due to arrive and with

book being made as to the exact date of the event,

Variety has learned from an authentic source that a son was

born to the Chaplins in April, and that Chaplin up to

date has not had a glimpse of him. No record has been made

in the local health office of the birth of the child. Nor will

Chaplin discuss the matter.

Mrs. Chaplin, formerly Lita Grey, is living in the home

of her mother at Whitley Heights and is unapproachable. There

are guards about the house who warn all trespassers

away. They are all huskies, under the direction of one of

Chaplin‘s servants.

It is said that Chaplin is holding back announcement

of the birth of his heir until after his latest picture, The Gold Rush,

is released. He figures that when he springs the story

it will be means of gettings much favorable publicity that will

help the picture. The picture is set to open late in June

at Grauman‘s Egyptian in Hollywood.

The Chaplins were married in Mexico last November.“

Charles Chaplin, jr., is born May 5, 1925.

The Gold Rush opens June 26, 1925
