„Very busy with plans to welcome his guests“
Editorial content. „GALA NIGHT FOR
SID‘S EGYPTIAN
With The Iron Horse bidding farewell in three performances,
tomorrow afternoon and night in Grauman‘s Egyptian
Theater, elaborate preparations are being made for the world
premiere of The Gold Rush, Charlie Chaplin‘s 10-part
comedy-drama on next Friday night in the Hollywood playhouse.
Nearly every celebrity of screenland, including
stars, producers and studio executives, has made reservations
to entertain parties at the premiere, and Sid Grauman
is very busy with plans to welcome his guests in a fashion that
will surpass the previous ,first nights‘ that have made
his magnificent playhouse famous.
Grauman has arranged for an elaborate musical score
to accompany his entertainment that will introduce
new artists in the Egyptian. Julius K. Johnston, probably
Southern California‘s best known theatrical organist,
will be at the console of the Egyptian organ.
Gino Severi, a conductor of note on the coast, will wield
the baton of the Egyptian orchestra. Grauman always
has paid great attention to the auditory entertainment of his
patrons, and it is said that the engagement of the
artists carries the highest salaries paid in the profession
on the coast.“
The Gold Rush opens June 26, 1925 at
Grauman‘s Egyptian, 6712 Hollywood Bld., L. A.
