& U. A. HAS BEST YEAR
IN FOREIGN MARKET (...)
Hollywood – Business of United Artists in the foreign field
during the past season was the most profitable
in the company‘s history, it was stated by Arthur W. Kelly,
vice-president in charge of distribution, in his
address before the U. A. convention yesterday. The reasons
for this, Kelly said, are the increased number
of pictures, expansion of exchanges, and the gearing
of production policies to the demands of the
audiences in all parts of the world.
As a result of this impetus, Kelly predicted that the
1935-36 season will show an increase of easily
50 per cent over last season for U. A. in the foreign field.
He based this forecast of the product lineup,
particularly the Charlie Chaplin picture.

time this reaches print. Paulette Goddard, whom Chaplin
admitted at a small party, has been Mrs. Chaplin for more than
a year, is his leading lady. He has a habit of marrying
them, you know.“
