HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 5. – If Charlie Chaplin, who has spent
the last couple of years roaming lonesomely around
the earth, should suddenly turn up one of these days married
to beautiful, platinum blond Paulette Goddard, the wise
of cinemaland would only say, ,I told you so!‘
For despite denials by Miss Goddard and silence by Chaplin,
romantic-minded Hollywood insists that Paulette is to
be the third Mrs. Chaplin.“ (...)

an actors‘ agent met her at a party at Malibu, famous
movie beach colony.“ (...)
„Harry Langdon was numbered among her first acquaintances
here. But she went out with him only a few times when
Chaplin came into the picture. They met at a party during the
latter part of July. After that Paulette had eyes for nobody
else. She and Charlie were seen together almost continually in one
