„Film fans are excited by news that Charlie Chaplin

and Doug Fairbanks will stop off in Japan on their

way around the world. Chaplin, Fairbanks and Pickford are

the only screen stars of any nationality dignified

in Japan by use of the first name alone. Doug is called

,Dah-gu,‘ Charlie ,Chah-ri‘ and Mary ,Mah-ri.‘

Harold Lloyd, however, is the most popular of all. He is called

,Riodo-san,‘ which means ,Mr. Lloyd.‘“
