largest theatre in the Japanese capital, following signing
of contract calling for a three-week run of „City
Lights,“ beginning January 14, at a record rental.

and Doug Fairbanks will stop off in Japan on their
way around the world. Chaplin, Fairbanks and Pickford are
the only screen stars of any nationality dignified
in Japan by use of the first name alone. Doug is called
,Dah-gu,‘ Charlie ,Chah-ri‘ and Mary ,Mah-ri.‘
Harold Lloyd, however, is the most popular of all. He is called
,Riodo-san,‘ which means ,Mr. Lloyd.‘“
