„Merely the distributor of its pictures“

Editorial content. „Paramount Releasing U. A.

      Films on New Deal

      No Stock Purchase in New

      Deal for Entire Product

A deal was closed this week for the release

of United Artists pictures through the Paramount Famous-Lasky,

it is reported.

The deal is not in any respect a merger,

Jos. M. Schenck announcing that the contract merely applies

to the release of United Artists pictures through the

Paramount. Paramount will release pictures with such stars

as Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Charles Chaplin,

Norma Talmadge, Gloria Swanson and D. W. Griffith and

Samuel Goldwyn productions.

According to Schenck, the Paramount organization

does not become a stockholder in United Artists but merely

the distributor of its pictures.“ (...)
