At yesterday‘s meeting a resolution was passed calling
on the public to withhold judgment of Charlie Chaplin
until he has opportunity to state his case in court, when, the
committee is advised, he would completely vindicate
himself. Chaplin‘s films were lauded for their wholesomeness.

Theater Owners of America have adopted resolutions
regretting the ,sensational publicity surrounding the affair of
Charles Chaplin,‘ and asking that ,the judgment
of the public be suspended in this matter until the facts are
presented in impending court actions where we are
advised Chaplin will be able to vindicate himself entirely.‘“
