      Charlie Chaplin as a cutter is no mean psychologist

of the females. Half the girls noticed that he didn‘t

even hold Merna Kennedy‘s hand in „The Circus.“ And they‘re

busy trying to dope whether the little tramp felt platonic

or paternal toward the hungry equestrienne.

      Merna Kennedy, who makes her screen debut in „The Circus,“

again will play opposite Charlie Chaplin in „Nowhere,“

which the comedian now is preparing. Production is slated

to start in February.
