The Circus grossed $36,735 here in New York in 19 shows, Saturday and Sunday included. The program consists
of an overture, a brief prologue flash of circus animals doing
their stuff under the big top – for which Joe Plunkett
rates a decoration – and the picture.
That‘s all. You can‘t deny that the picture is the thing
in face of such business. Give some of the show
to ‘em on the stage – nobody disputes the showmanship
of that – but the main kick of the bill by every night
should be on celluloid.
