Just in case anybody may be hungering and thirsting
for details concerning Miss Merna Kennedy, Charlie
Chaplin‘s new leading lady, in his latest picture, „The Circus,“
here they are:
Miss Kennedy was born in Chicago. She is of Irish
descent, has auburn hair, green eyes and is five inches tall
and weights just 100 pounds.
Miss Kennedy is a dancer of note and at the age of 9 was
featured in a dancing act which played the Orpheum
vaudeville theaters throughout the country. When discovered
by Chaplin she was playing a comedy part in „All For
You“ at the Mason. Her engagement with Chaplin will be Miss
Kennedy‘s first appearance in pictures.

Charlie Chaplin has another new leading lady!
She is Merna Kennedy – a discovery, never has appeared
on the screen before – described as titian haired,
green eyed and small. Charlie discovered her dancing
in a Los Angeles theatre and immediately
signed her to be his leading lady in „The Circus.“
