„Will be announced as they pass to their seats“
Editorial content. „New System for „Gold Rush“
First Night Promised
For the first time at any premiere, a new system
of introducing stars will be inaugurated by Sid
Grauman Thursday night at the world premiere of The
Gold Rush, Charlie Chaplin‘s most pretentious
production, a comedy-drama in ten parts, in Grauman‘s
Egyptian Theater.
Grauman has issued an appeal to Federal, State,
city and county officials, society leaders and
the regular first nighters to be in their seats promptly
at 8:20 o‘clock, as the stars will start entering
the theater at 8:30 o‘clock and will be announced as they
pass to their seats.
From advance reservations, practically every celebrity
in the film world will attend the premiere, including
not only the stars themselves, but every producer and
studio executive of prominence.
Aside from stating it will be a totally different
conception from anything previously staged,
no intimation of the nature of the elaborate prologue
spectacle to herald The Gold Rush, has been
disclosed by Grauman.“
The Gold Rush opens June 26, 1925
at Grauman‘s Egyptian, 6712 Hollywood Bld., Los Angeles.
